Hello everyone! This time i want to share my memories about my Ramadhan. It all started from the first day of Ramadhan, and just like everyone else in Ramadhan, fasting is what we do in Ramadhan. This year, things are a little different. Why you ask? because i'm growing up of course. Ramadhan last year was so much fun, because i get to play all night long! But now i can't play anymore, because all my friends are busy with their own work. I too was kept busy by tons of homework, though, plus this year, the school on Ramadhan will be a little longer. Usually, i only go to school for two weeks in Ramadhan, but this year, it's three weeks, so it's a week full of learning, fasting, and homework. How troublesome.
And so i went to Jakarta to visit my grandparents. Well, to be honest, it's been a while since the last time i went to Jakarta. it was 3 years ago, so i don't really know how it look like now, but shockingly, it's just the same as i remember 3 years ago! But with little development though. After I get to my grandparents house, i was very tired of the long journey that takes 2 hours flight, and an hour from the airport to my grandparents house. So when i get there, i'm going directly to bed. When i'm awake, it's already 6 o'clock in the afternoon, so nothing to do better than to take shower, and eat until my stomach can't take anymore food. after that, i just realize that in my grandparents house, i have three girl's cousin that i miss so much. they grew up so fast, i can't even believe that the oldest cousin is already taller than me, and she was only in the second grade of middle school. well that proves what everyone is saying that child now is growing up so fast. And so i decided to play with them. it's funny though that it seems i have a little bit problem understanding what they are saying because they speak with the language that Jakarta people always saying, and it's different than in Balikpapan, but i manage to learn what they are speaking. it turns out that they were only kidding in the way Jakarta people do, no wonder i can't understand it. I play with them until i didn't realize that it's already midnight. So i decided to stop the play and take a good night sleep because tomorrow, i'm going to go shopping the clothes i have been searching for the past few months. When i go to the mall, i found the place was really cozy, though it's now so big, but it feels comfortable. so much better than in Balikpapan. So this is the different between a small city and the big city. I spend almost three hours just walking around the mall because i can't find the clothes i was looking for, but finally i found it. And after i finished shopping, i'm going back to my grandparents house, tired of course, and straight to the bed. That's the cycle of my everyday life in Jakarta.
But one day, my grandparents decided to go to their other house in the village located in West Java, Ciamis to be exact. They decided to go there because they have distant relatives there and they want to celebrate Idul Fitri with the whole grand family members. And so me and my family tag along. The journey from Jakarta to Ciamis usually takes about 8-9 hour by car, but since it's holiday, and everybody is going for Mudik, it takes longer time because of the traffic jam. it takes us 16 whole hour of travelling in car. Just imagine, 16 whole hour just sitting inside of the car. it's so tiring. But when we arrived at the place, it feels so different in the village, the air was so fresh and cold. And there is so much fields, like rice fields. The area was so green and peaceful. I love it there, but unfortunately the cold air doesn't suit me and i ended up getting a flu. I'm so regret that. But since there were so many families, everyone start caring for me like i was a little kid. It feels a little embarrassing, but somehow i feel much better when they care for me. I am so happy. In there, i was just sitting and feel the fresh and healthy air of the village. since i was sick and i can't do anything else because there was NO CELLULAR PHONE SIGNAL AT ALL! Luckily i have a lot of games in my phone, so i don't get bored very easily. Plus there is my cousins that i can play with and joking with, so there's no need for phone signal. When Idul Fitri comes, more of my family members arrived, and the two my favorite cousins also there. They are the children's of my mother sister. The older one is a boy, and the younger one is a girl. the older was just like a big brother to me, since i have no older brother. And the younger one is like a sister i never had, but she's very shy now. Maybe i'ts because we're in the same age, and have a different gender. When everyone finally gathered, my grandparents decided to go the cemetery to visits our family members that have been passed away before us. We feel so sad that in Idul Fitri, we realize that we have lost our other family members and can't celebrate it with them, but i'm sure they are resting in peace up there somewhere. After visiting the cemetery, we get back home and rest, preparing to go back to Jakarta for the next day because we already spend five days in the village, so we think it's time for us to go back to Jakarta.
When we traveled back to Jakarta, the road was clear so we manage to get to Jakarta only in 9 hours. After that long journey, we decided to rest and go to sleep. But i can't sleep because the next day will be my last day to have fun in Jakarta, The next day after that, we have to go back to Balikpapan. So for the last day, my parents decided to take me to Fatahillah, Museum of Jakarta. Going to the museum always makes me feel afraid because i'm a little bit scared of places that has a low lighting, but i tried not to be scared and taking pictures instead. There are lots of Dutch and Portuguese remains because they have invaded Jakarta a long time ago. There are also heritage from the prehistoric age. It was a trip full of knowledge to be learn, so i don't regret it at all because i have to learn something too even if i am in a holiday. And so the day ended, and the next day arrived. the day for me to go back to Balikpapan and start my school life all over again. i'm going to miss my family in Jakarta, especially the three cousins in my grandparents house, because only they who always plays and accompany me in my bored times. And that's the story of my holiday. Sorry for the bad English though. after all this is part of learning too, right? i hope at least you can understand the point of this story. And see you another time!
